Behind the new song, “Beside Me”

I recently released a new song called “Beside Me”. This is how the song came about. I was in a room with Kelly and decided to “pretend-serenade” her. She wanted to do something (I can’t remember what), and I didn’t feel like doing that so I thought if I serenaded her she would not mind that I didn’t want to do her thing. I just sang her name a couple of times and tried to find words that rhymed with it. After a bit, I realised that I really enjoyed the melody so much that I wanted to write a proper song to it. The chorus of the song is actually the product of this “pretend-serenading” session with one tweak. The original serenade version went, “Kelly Mole, you are all I see, you are beautiful, you helped me believe.” As soon as Kelly realised that I was going to make a legitimate song from this, she forced me to change the lyrics by removing her name. This meant I had to find a three syllable line that would work with the rest of the chorus. Thus, “Truest girl, you are all I see, you are beautiful, you helped me believe.” I hope you enjoy the song!
