Sunrise: SONG LYRICS

Chorus

(But) You loved, you loved, you loved

I never gave it up

To see the sun

Verse 1

You woke me up

A beautiful sunrise

My heart felt love

That fire burning bright

Pre-Chorus

You said

Come let us ascend

Come let us ascend

We will see the sunrise

Chorus

(But) You loved, you loved, you loved

I never gave it up

To see the sun

Verse 2

I saw your eyes

Blaze fire from the sunrise

My heart knew love

A love who’s burning bright

Pre-Chorus

You said

Come let us ascend

Come let us ascend

We will see the sunrise

Bridge

The sun

It rose up to the greatest height

You brought

Me to the place of the divine

I rise

And shine as bright up in the sky

It’s love

Who caused our hearts our hearts to intertwine

Chorus

(But) You loved, you loved, you loved

I never gave it up

To see the sun

Outro

You loved, you loved, you loved

I will give myself

To see the sun

In the words of Taylor Swift, “We are never ever getting back together”: songs about famous breakups

Call me Mr. Obvious, but not all songs are happy. I know. Some songs are about breakups. A lot of those songs about breakups are hypothetical of course, but some are about real life experiences. Then, among those real-life-experience songs about breakups, there are a select few that fall into the category concerning famous breakups. Here is a list of some songs about famous breakups.

The shortest and longest songs in the world you might ever hear!

Believe it or not, there is actually a Guinness World Record for the shortest song in the world! I’m sure you are wondering how short that song actually is, what it is called and who sings it. Well, let me put you out of your misery… The shortest song in the world is sung by a band called Napalm Death. The song is called “You Suffer”. And the length of the song is… drum roll please… 1.316 seconds long! I know, I know, you are probably wondering, is it possible to actually call that a song? I had the same misgivings until I heard the song. But after hearing it, I realised there was so much meaning to it, that it was a commentary on how capitalism affects the world… HAHA jokes. I’m not sure I think this can be called a song, but Guinness World Records does, and hey, if Guinness says so, then it is so! Here is the song.

Were you as moved as I was?

Then there are those songs so long, it might take a millenium for the song to play out. No, I’m not joking, the longest piece of music has been playing for over 14 years and is due to end in 2999. Look it up here: http://longplayer.org/.

But lets be realistic, that is not really a song, it is more music just playing by computer generation. One of the longest songs I could find is by a band called Green Carnation. The song is called “Light of Day, Day of Darkness”. It’s length is… drumroll please… one hour three seconds. The album was named the same and contained only the one song! Crazy right?? Here it is.

Don’t ask me why people want to make a one-second song, or an hour-long song. This just doesn’t make sense to me! But each to their own 🙂 Do you know of any shorter songs, or any longer songs? Let me know!

A Friends Tribute, Medley Of Phoebe Buffay’s Songs

Twenty years ago, a TV series aired for the first time. It became an international hit, one of the most popular shows the world had ever seen. After ten seasons (and ten years ago), the show bowed out even though still going strong. The show I am talking about is of course Friends! Who can forget the loveable characters of Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) and Joey Tribbiani (Matt Le Blanc)?

I admit, I never watched Friends when it was originally airing, but that was because I was too young. After I started dating Kelly, however, she changed things entirely. She introduced me to this iconic world of the 90s. Initially, when she told me that she watched the show literally every day on her DVDs, I laughed at her. I thought she was crazy. Now I watch the show every day. I am a fan. A big fan!

Because this year is the 20/10 year reunion of the show airing and ending, I wanted to do something fun as tribute to the show, and since I like music, I thought lets do something musical. As you probably know, the show at regular intervals portrayed Phoebe singing at Central Perk. Who doesn’t remember the words to “Smelly Cat” or “Ode To A Pubic Hair”? So I thought I would sing a medley of a couple of Phoebe Buffay’s songs sung at Central Perk. And of course in performing it, I had to include the biggest Friends fan I know, Kelly.

We did it true-to-Phoebe-style: bad guitar playing and silly vocals!! HAHA 🙂 So this is me and Kelly singing Phoebe’s songs!

Seven of the most repetitive songs you might ever hear!

There are songs that have meaningful lyrics and then there are songs that are probably the product of a cut and paste job. Have you ever heard a song that made you think the record was stuck, and then you realised you were listening to a CD or your iPod or iPhone, and then you realised there was only one line to the song? Yep, there are songs like that. There are songs that could be called the most repetitive songs ever!  Don’t get me wrong, I love repetition, but some songs are on another level.

Anyway, these are what I think are some of the most repetitive songs ever. Lets take a look at the lyrics and how many unique words have been used in the particularly repetitive part of the song, shall we?

Five of the happiest songs you might ever hear!

Music has this incredible ability to affect your emotions in a very powerful way. It can change the atmosphere. Imagine trying to watch a super emo love film without music. You lose the power of the moment. And the wrong music can ruin things. Imagine trying to watch a comedy movie with horror music playing in the background. Someone is doing something funny, but you can’t but help think that they are going to get stabbed very soon. Bottom line, music is POWERFUL. And that fascinates me.

Music can put a smile on people’s faces, and can uplift people in their lowest moments. With this in mind, I thought it might be pretty cool to list five of the happiest songs I haver ever heard. This is not a ranked list, just one that recounts to you some of the happiest songs I have ever heard.

What are your happiest songs ever? Can you add to this list? I’m sure you can because it is so short haha! Let me know in the comments.

Imagine Dragons, On Top Of The World

Shortstraw, Couch Potato

Jason Mraz, I’m Yours

Pharrell Williams, Happy

Bobby McFerrin, Don’t Worry Be Happy
